Like at third base, the longtime standard bearers at first base are beginning to show their age. Unlike at third base, there are enough compelling newcomers to ease the transition.

Nick Kurtz's historic rookie season moves him ahead of mainstays like Bryce Harper and Freddie Freeman , among others.
