The Pueblo West Cyclones football team opened up their 4A Soco 1 league schedule against the Doherty Spartans on Friday, Oct. 3, at home.
The Cyclones (4-1) came into the game on a two-game win streak, while the Spartans (2-3) were on a two-game losing streak. Pueblo West extended its win streak Friday, defeating Doherty 49-6.
For the Cyclones, it was important to get off to a quick start, which they were able to do. Only a few minutes into the first quarter, the Cyclones quarterback Chase Harrison hit Jayden Gylling for a touchdown. A few minutes later after a quick three-and-out by the Spartans, Harrison connected with Zach Sprinkle for another touchdown pass.
