Police suspect celebratory firing; investigation underway

Bhopal: A 10-year-old girl, Riya Rajak, tragically died after being shot while playing near a tableau pandal in the Kolar Road area on Thursday afternoon. An X-ray report later confirmed the presence of a bullet, which had entered from between her neck and shoulder and lodged in her waist. She was rushed to JK Hospital but died two hours later during treatment.

Riya, a fourth-grade student, was the only daughter of Sunil Rajak, a water supplier. Her grieving family lives in a rented home in Rajharsh Colony. Eyewitnesses said Riya suddenly collapsed while sitting with other children, and was found bleeding heavily.

Police have registered a murder case against unknown persons and recreated the crime scene with help from the Forens
