A dad who thought he was just suffering from a 'nasty cold' was left in shock after he found his oxygen levels were dangerously low and needed to be rushed to hospital. Aaron Clark was placed in a coma for 16 days and later found he had almost died as a result of getting the flu.

The 42-year-old garage owner, who suffered multi-organ failure, went on to spend more than two weeks in an induced coma at Kings Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire.

The seemingly fit and healthy dad-of-three was placed on an ventilator to help his breathing, alongside a dialysis machine as his kidneys were not working properly.
