EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (KABC) -- After an explosion and fire at a Chevron refinery in El Segundo on Thursday night, air quality is top of mind for many. Eyewitness News spoke with a pulmonologist on how to stay safe.
The explosion was reported just after 9:30 p.m., with a massive fireball lighting up the night sky.
It took firefighters hours to put out the flames, but they say they were extinguished by late Friday morning.
The fire never moved beyond the property's fence line, and Chevron says no one was hurt and all workers are accounted for.
