MISSION VIEJO – A competitive start by Long Beach Poly didn’t get in the way of a homecoming cruise for Mission Viejo on Friday.
The Diablos scored 21 points in the final 4:33 of the first half to separate and pull away from Long Beach Poly in a 56-7 win at Mission Viejo High.
Mission Viejo (6-1) enters its bye week before opening Alpha League play against rival San Clemente on Oct. 17. Long Beach Poly (3-3, 2-0) returns to Moore League play against rival Millikan next week.
Ohio State commit Luke Fahey completed 22 of 24 passes for 325 yards for the Diablos, including touchdown passes of 59 yards and 21 yards to Jack Junker. Fahey also ran in a score. Junker caught six passes for 161 yards.
