Kundapur, Oct 4: In a timely act of bravery, personnel of the coastal security police (KND) rescued two engineering students from Bengaluru who were on the verge of drowning at Maravanthe beach on Friday evening.

A group of five to six engineering students from Bengaluru had visited Maravanthe beach for leisure. Despite warnings prohibiting entry into the sea, two members of the group ventured too far into the water near the Maraswami Temple area and were caught in powerful waves.

KND personnel Nishanth and Vishnu, who were stationed nearby, immediately rushed to the spot and rescued the duo, risking their own lives. One of the students had reportedly been swept nearly 100 metres into the sea before being pulled to safety. Their swift and courageous
