The City of Cockburn has no plans to make a FOGO bin service available to its residents.

The Food Organics and Garden Organics (FOGO) initiative is a cornerstone of the State Government’s Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030, which focuses on increasing resource recovery and reducing environmental harm from waste to landfill.

Nearly 30 councils in WA deliver FOGO services but the city is in no rush to join them.

North Coogee resident Alberto Giglia submitted a question to the city’s September 2 council meeting asking why it was “lagging behind” other councils in introducing a green waste and organics system.
