WORTHINGTON, Ohio — The Kilbourne Wolverines battled back from down 20-10 and tied the game up 20-20 apiece in Friday night’s matchup with Big Walnut.
But their comeback effort was stopped by junior running back Nolan Buirley as Big Walnut held on for a 35-20 in a major Division II showdown.
Buirley has now officially run for over 1,000 yards and 17 touchdowns in the first seven games of the season for Big Walnut.
“I could not have found this much success without my offensive line,” said Buirley. “They work all week even on the little things. I’m so proud of all of them. They are a huge part of our offense. We have built a great bond and we are going to keep getting better.”
He had a four rushing touchdown performance, including three in the first half.
