A Northampton County cat rescue organization has opened the region’s only low-cost, high-volume spay and neuter clinic for cats, addressing a growing need in the community while tackling feline overpopulation.
Feline Urban Rescue and Rehab opened FURR Fix in Bangor in early 2024, holding its first clinic on Feb. 20. Since then, the facility has conducted 105 spay and neuter clinics, successfully treating 3,682 cats. The clinic charges $40 for trap-neuter-return cats and $120 for pet cats.
Demand for the services has been so strong that the clinic is currently booking appointments about a month out, according to information from the organization.
