Five sheriff’s deputies and a sergeant were commended for services that went above-and-beyond the call of duty.

“Today we pause to recognize the dedication of deputies whose commitment often goes unnoticed,” said Sheriff Jerry Sanders Jr. at a ceremony Wednesday in the County Council meeting room of the Government Center in Media.

“Their work may not always make headlines, but it makes a profound difference in the lives of those we serve,” Sanders continued. “Each of these honorees represents the very best of our profession, and it is a privilege to acknowledge their service.”
