Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday hit out at those he accused of misusing Zubeen Garg’s death to settle political scores with the BJP government.

In a Facebook Live address, Sarma said, “Those who once invited Bangladeshi singers like Momtaz to perform in Assam, but never gave Zubeen a stage in their own regions, are now overnight calling themselves his fans. They are exploiting the grief of genuine admirers to attack us for taking action against encroachers and infiltrators.”
