The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the death of renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg has recorded the statements of his wife Garima Saikia Garg and sister Palmee Borthakur, confirmed investigating officer Moramee Das on Saturday, October 4.

Speaking to the media, Das stated, “I recorded the statements of Garima Saikia Garg and Palmee Borthakur today. I can’t comment further at this moment because the investigation is still ongoing.”

The investigation follows Zubeen Garg’s untimely demise in Singapore on September 19, where he reportedly drowned while swimming in the sea. The singer had travelled to the Southeast Asian nation to participate in the 4th edition of the North East India Festival, an event organised by Shyamkanu Mahanta and his company.
