LAWRENCE — The good news continued Friday for Kansas basketball, with Javon Bardwell’s announcement that he’s committed to the program.

Bardwell is a 247Sports Composite five-star small forward in the class of 2027. He’s the No. 9-ranked player at his position in the nation, and the No. 26-ranked player in the nation overall. In recent days, KU also earned commitments in the class of 2026 from five-star point guard Taylen Kinney and four-star small forward Trent Perry.

“Honestly, the coaching staff, for sure, I’m most impressed with,” Bardwell said in a report from the Arizona Republic, which outlined tha t Bardwell will attempt to reclassify to 2026.
