Bhubaneswar: In a significant bust, officials from the Customs and Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 3.2 kg of marijuana worth Rs 3 crore at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar. The contraband, originating from Bangkok, was intercepted today.
A man from Kerala, who allegedly smuggled the marijuana, was arrested and is currently being interrogated. This comes after a similar incident in August, where Customs officials seized a consignment of marijuana worth Rs 4 crore from a couple arriving from Bangkok.
The raiding team is working to unravel the smuggling network and identify other smugglers involved in the racket.
