On that date, one year to the day before the attack on Pearl Harbor, the Longhorns traveled by train to Florida Field to battle Florida football . UT returned 1,000 miles back to Austin 26-0 victors over the Gators.

That is the last time the Longhorns visited Gainesville. That changes Saturday when Florida hosts 7 th -ranked UT at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. The two met last year, Texas’ first season in the Southeastern Conference, but that game was in Austin.
