Santa Ynez girls tennis team edges Lompoc

Avery DeJohn scored a come-from-behind 7-6 (5), 6-2 win at No. 5 singles in the last match to finish to give the Pirates the win against the Braves in a Mountain League match at Lompoc Thursday.

Ainsley Haws teamed with Rylee Arellano for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles for the Pirates then won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Claire Tipich and Clea Malkmus won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles, and Elodie Hodge won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 singles for the Pirates.
