The motel cradled between Interstate 5 and Highway 99 has long been an infamous landmark in Clark County.

For decades, the derelict Value Motel at 708 N.E. 78th St. was the hot spot to buy, sell, use or sleep off drugs. But in the thick of the pandemic, the property transformed into a place for people to recover from drugs and turn their lives around.

After a fallout between the recovery program and the property’s owner, it looked like the motel would again become a magnet for drugs and crime.

Instead, it became Safe Haven .
