MANCHESTER, England (AP) — New Manchester United goalkeeper Senne Lammens was named in the starting lineup for the first time for the team's Premier League game against Sunderland on Saturday.

Lammens was a $24.7 million signing from Royal Antwerp on transfer deadline day but has had to wait to make his first appearance.

Under-pressure United coach Ruben Amorim has turned to the Belgian after a troubled start to the season that has seen speculation mount over his position.

The change in goal comes despite Turkish keeper Altay Bayindir pulling off a string of saves to keep the score down in last week’s 3-1 loss to Brentford.
