NMC partners up to tackle period poverty in East Africa

TRAVERSE CITY — Madhvi Dalal, the Nairobi social entrepreneur behind a fast-growing effort to end period poverty in East Africa brings a global problem — and a practical solution — to Traverse City.

Dalal will appear for a screening and discussion of the short film “Powerful Women” ay 7 p.m. Oct. 8 at the State Theatre’s Community Night.
