Unai Emery says Harvey Elliott is on “the right path” but needs more time to adapt at Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old joined Villa from Liverpool on deadline day, initially on loan , but he is expected to become a permanent signing for £35 million next summer.

Elliott made his debut against Everton last month, coming off the bench to play 20 minutes, before starting against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium in the Carabao Cup.

Despite scoring against the Bees last month, he then returned to the bench against Sunderland and did not feature in the Europa League match against Bologna.
