A pedestrian was struck and killed by a Los Angeles-bound Metrolink train at the downtown Burbank station, authorities said Saturday.
The crash occurred at about 10 p.m. Friday on the tracks west of the pedestrian crossing at the downtown Burbank Metrolink Station, 201 N. Front St., between Magnolia Boulevard and Olive Avenue, Metrolink spokeswoman Laurene Lopez told City News Service.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene, Lopez said. She did not know their name, age or gender.
The train was Route 232 from Lancaster to Los Angeles, she said.
The tracks were closed between the Glendale and Burbank North stations, Lopez said.
Two of the night’s last trains were cancelled and one stopped at the Burbank Airport, she said.
