New Delhi: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has waived charges for Aadhaar biometric updates for children between the ages of 7 and 15, a move expected to benefit nearly six crore children across the country.

The waiver, which came into effect on October 1, 2025, will remain in force for one year, UIDAI said in a statement. It applies to the Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU-1) required when a child turns seven, and the second MBU when the child turns 15.
