MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The final suspect in a deadly Frayser domestic violence shooting that left two people dead has been captured, the U.S. Marshals Service announced Friday.

Malik Merriweather, 24, was arrested in Memphis this week by the Memphis Safe Task Force. He had been wanted since April for two counts of first-degree murder and eight counts of attempted first-degree murder stemming from an April 22 shooting on Cleoford Avenue.

According to the Marshals Service, Merriweather was found hiding inside a residence near Talley Road while officers executed a separate warrant. Task Force K9 officers located him behind a locked door.

The arrest follows a months-long manhunt. Authorities say Merriweather was the final outstanding suspect in the case.
