Darren Ritter is sadly leaving Chicago Fire in season 14, but the good news is that the premiere eases any worries about how he'll exit the show. Daniel Kyri, who has played Ritter since season 7, is one of the many cast members leaving the series this year. Unlike the others, though, Kyri is getting the chance to give his character a proper goodbye.

Both Sam Carver and Jack Damon bid Firehouse 51 farewell offscreen, in between the events of the Chicago Fire season 13 finale and season 14. Meanwhile, Kyri reprises his role as Ritter at the beginning of season 14. He'll only appear in a few episodes, but based on the premiere, he's making the most of them before leaving Chicago Fire for good.
