Chris Davies hailed James Beadle for taking his chance between the sticks for Birmingham City against Wrexham.
Brighton & Hove Albion loanee Beadle was handed his first Championship start by Davies at the Racecourse Ground and repaid his manager with a fine showing.
Beadle recovered from conceding an early goal to win a one-v-one battle with Lewis O’Brien and keep Wrexham at bay for the remainder of the match.
Explaining his decision to relieve Ryan Allsop of league duties after a year, Davies said: We've got two exceptional goalkeepers. We brought James in from Brghton, he’s the England under-21 goalkeeper, at some point he needs a chance to play.
