CORRIGAN, Texas (KTRE) - Corrigan-Camden ISD says a student athlete has died after he suffered a medical emergency at a game last week.

Daniel Rivera collapsed on the sidelines of a game on Sept. 26 in a medical emergency unrelated to the game, the ISD said previously . He was in critical condition at that time.

The ISD announced on Saturday that Rivera has died.

“Daniel was not only a dedicated student but also a passionate athlete, a loyal friend, and a cherished member of our Bulldog Family,” the ISD statement said. “His energy, kindness and determination left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
