The kid would be 22-year-old rookie Trey Yesavage, who Schneider announced will get the ball for Sunday’s Game 2 of the best-of-five in what will be his fifth career start.
The veteran is Shane Bieber, who the Jays acquired at this summer’s trade deadline to bolster the rotation. The former Cy Young Award winner will get the ball for Game 3 in New York on Tuesday.
