From October 6, Bus passengers in Hyderabad will have to pay more, as the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has once again increased fares. The hike applies to ordinary, metro ordinary, metro express and metro deluxe buses.

As per the new structure, fares for the first three stages will go up by ₹5, and from the fourth stage onward, tickets will cost ₹10 more. In metro deluxe services, passengers will pay ₹5 extra for the first stage and ₹10 more from the second stage. TGSRTC says this revision is due to rising costs of fuel, maintenance and operations.

Meanwhile the Government is planning to set up 2800 e-busses and is thinking of complete conversion of the current diesel fleet of buses to the E-bus network system. Officials claim that without a hike, it is impossible
