Rite Aid has closed all of its locations across the United States after previously declaring bankruptcy.

The former drugstore chain shared the announcement on its website , with a message that read in part, “All Rite Aid stores have now closed. We thank our loyal customers for their many years of support.”

Before filing for bankruptcy protection in October 2023, Rite Aid ran more than 2,300 stores across 17 states. As part of its bankruptcy protection filing, the drugstore chain had plans to sell parts of the business and restructure.

However, come May 2025, the drugstore chain announced that it would try to sell all of the company’s assets after beginning Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings for a second time.
