SIERRA VISTA, AZ (AZFamily) — Authorities are searching for a missing hiker who disappeared in southern Arizona Friday night.

Cochise County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is searching for 43-year-old Reza Dilmahanian, after his wife reported him missing from the Sierra Vista area.

The woman told police that Dilmahanian had left home at about noon to go hiking in Carr Canyon . Then, around 6 p.m., Dilmahanian told his wife that he was on his way home, sending her a photo from the lower Carr Canyon bridge.

She told police that Dilmahanian never returned home, and she had been unable to contact him when she reported him missing at about 10:20 p.m.

CCSO Search and Rescue responded to the area to search for Dilmahanian, using ground units along roads and over the sides of the mountain in Carr
