A central prison in the town of Mogadishu, Somalia was attacked hours after the government removed roadblocks that had protected the area for years. Terrified residents reported hearing explosions and gunfire near the prison, which also serves as Somalia's intelligence headquarters. The al-Shabab militant group has taken responsibility for the attack.
