Trump To Federalize Illinois National Guard, Governor Says

Illinois Governor JB Pritzker (D) said on Sunday that President Donald Trump will federalize the Illinois National Guard.

“This morning, the Trump Administration’s Department of War gave me an ultimatum: call up your troops, or we will,” Pritzker wrote on Bluesky, using Trump’s non-statutory term for the Department of Defense. “It is absolutely outrageous and un-American to demand a Governor send military troops within our own borders and against our will.”
