COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - This year’s first full supermoon is happening Monday, and here’s what to expect.

Next week’s full moon, also known as the Harvest Moon, reaches peak illumination at 11:47 PM on October 6. For perspective, the average distance of the moon to Earth is 238,900 miles. During 2025’s October supermoon, its distance is closer at 224,599 miles.
