Oklahoma football receiver Keontez Lewis suffered a scary injury early in the first quarter against Kent State on Saturday, Oct. 4.

Lewis was attempting to haul in a pass for a touchdown, but the ball was overthrown. Lewis' head then hit the brick wall in the end zone as he was running full speed. He was down on the field for several moments before being stretchered off the field.

Nearly the entire Sooners roster came over to the end zone in support as he left the field.

The first-year transfer from Southern Illinois has been one of the Sooners' most reliable targets this season, with 17 receptions for 210 yards with two touchdowns. He caught nine passes for 119 yards and two scores in Oklahoma's season opener against Illinois State.

Lewis started his career at UCLA before transferring to Wisconsin, where he played two seasons. He then spent a season at Southern Illinois in 2024 before moving to Oklahoma for his final season of eligibility.
