A Baton Rouge man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly stealing an electric scooter from another person and then shooting at them multiple times, grazing them.

Jamal McKenzie, 17, was arrested Wednesday by Baton Rouge police on a count each of armed robbery and attempted first-degree murder.

McKenzie allegedly confronted his robbery victim as they traveled on an electric scooter southbound on Staring Lane just before the intersection at Southlawn Drive.

He allegedly pushed the victim, took the scooter and attempted to leave the area. When the victim confronted McKenzie, a physical fight broke out between the two before McKenzie drew a firearm.
