RIDGEFIELD, Conn. ( WFSB /Gray News) - A Connecticut woman has been arrested for attempted murder after being accused of trying to poison a man with antifreeze.

Connecticut State Police said its investigation began after a patient at a Connecticut hospital was thought to be suffering from ethylene glycol poisoning.

The 34-year-old told police he believed 33-year-old Kristen Hogan had poisoned him.

The man told troopers he had a dinner party on Aug. 5 with family, where his stepmother brought over a bottle of wine. At the end of the night, he corked the remaining wine in the bottle and put it in the fridge.
