The brother of a 14-year-old boy killed at a University of New Mexico dormitory has been charged with multiple felonies related to the deadly shooting in July.
According to court documents, Zion Miera went back to the dorm room where his brother, Michael LaMotte, died and removed evidence, including a backpack. Miera also deleted material on LaMotte's cell phone before police took it. He faces two counts of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony.
Miera is also charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of cocaine, both of which are fourth-degree felonies, the documents said.
Court documents said that Miera was supplying LaMotte with drugs to sell to his classmates.
