FRISCO, Texas — Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones has described his inability to create a Super Bowl-contending team around quarterback Tony Romo as his most regrettable failure. It’s becoming more apparent every week of this season that he may eventually reflect on Dak Prescott’s career in much the same way.

Averaging a league-high 43 passes per game in his 10th season as the starter, Prescott, at his current trajectory, would become the first Cowboys quarterback in history to lead the NFL in passing yards. Unfortunately, Dallas is also on pace to become the third team in NFL history to lead the league both in offensive yards gained and defensive yards allowed over a full season.
