Warm Sunday

Breezy and elevated fire risk

Drastic shift to fall

MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - After a second day of record-breaking heat, temperatures will stay mild tonight with lows in the 60s. Sunday brings another round of warmth with highs climbing into the mid to upper 80s. A third day of record is unlikely, but we won’t rule out 1 or 2 locations meeting the criteria.

Southerly winds will pick up through Sunday, gusting 20 to 30 mph at times, which will make for a breezy day. The warmth and low humidity are combining to keep fire weather concerns slightly elevated, especially in the far southwest part of the state. While fuels aren’t overly dry, the wind and warmth will make for quick drying of surface grasses and brush. Click Here for Interactive Radar
