Honolulu police have opened an arson investigation after a 24-year-old Waianae woman reported seeing an unknown person on her property through her home surveillance system just before her truck caught fire Friday night.

At about 9:55 p.m., the woman’s white Dodge flatbed truck was set ablaze on her property along Hakimo Road, according to a Honolulu Police Department news release today. The vehicle was parked and unattended, police said.

HPD said they have classified the case as first-degree arson.
