(Alexandria, MN) -- Saturday's annual Alexandria Evening Lions Meet of Champions included recognition of Alexandria Girls' Cross Country's early years and wrapped up with Staples-Motley senior Audrey Brownell placing first in the Varsity event for the second time in three years.

Defending Class A State Champion paces Varsity Girls' event: Staples-Motley High School senior Audrey Brownell made her final high school appearance at the Lions Meet of Champions a memorable one. Brownell crossed the finish line at Arrowwood Resort on Saturday as the only runner to complete that 5-kilometer race in under 19 minutes. Her winning time was 18 minutes, 31.9 seconds.
