PROVIDENCE – Rare are the games that live up to the hype of the matchup itself, but Friday night’s rivalry bout between Hendricken and La Salle was certainly an exception.
What happened? It's more like what didn’t. Two of the best teams put together four of the best quarters of football, with the best players in the state making big plays, and it wasn’t enough. The game ended in overtime when Antonio Bearden’s fourth-down touchdown catch tied the game before Quincy Marino’s extra point gave La Salle a 21-20 win over Hendricken, the first regular-season victory over the Hawks since 2012.
