It took less than one hour Saturday for firefighters to stop the forward rate of spread of a 225 sq. foot brushfire south of Little Rock Dam in the Angeles National Forest.

The fire was first reported at 11:47 a.m. Saturday by Angeles National Forest officials on X, formerly Twitter. Its location was described as Cheeseboro Road north of Mt. Emma Road.

A Los Angeles County Fire Department helicopter made airdrops and the Texas Canyon Hotshots battled flames on the ground to hold the fire to a 15-foot-squre area in light grass and brush, fire officials said at 12:38 p.m.

Hotshot crews are described as the Special Forces of wildland firefighting.
