A 21-year-old man has died after he was shot on a sidewalk in Chicago’s Garfield Park neighborhood Saturday.
According to Chicago police, that man and a 29-year-old were on a sidewalk in the 100 block of South Pulaski at approximately 2 p.m. when they were approached by an armed suspect.
That suspect then opened fire and fled the scene, police said.
The 21-year-old was shot in the groin and torso, and was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
The older victim was shot in both arms, and was listed in fair condition at an area hospital.
Area Four detectives are investigating, and no suspects are in custody at this time.
