LADUE — Decision time is fast approaching for Ladue girls tennis players Angela Chen and Kayla Chan.

The seniors have had tremendous success in their high school careers. Each has won an individual state singles title (Chen in 2022 and Chan last year), while Chan also has won a state doubles title (in 2022).

District play begins Thursday, and Chen, Chan and Ladue coach Genie Hong will have to decide whether to have the senior stars play together in doubles or separately in singles.

Chen and Chan may have made the decision even more difficult Saturday by winning the doubles title in the inaugural Girls Tournament of Champions at MICDS.

Chen and Chan defeated defending Class 3 doubles champions Kate Kimes and Rebecca Stamose of Rock Bridge in straight sets in the championship match.
