CHARDON, Ohio (WJW) – The Chardon Tavern and Grill caught on fire early Saturday afternoon.

According to the Chardon Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the fire at 405 Water Street just before 12:10 p.m.

Crews that arrived at the scene found a working fire at the back of the building, the department said.

“After ensuring all occupants were out of the building, an aggressive offensive attack was performed, and the fire was quickly brought under control,” the department said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Geauga County Fire Investigation Unit.

It is unclear at this time if anyone was injured.
