The Senators closed out their pre-season schedule with the strongest 60 minutes they played in a 3-1 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night at the Bell Centre.
Ottawa was good from start to finish in this one, led by goals from forwards Lars Eller, David Perron and Shane Pinto. Netminder Linus Ullmark wasn’t tested a whole lot, but he made the necessary stops — 19 saves — and only Cole Caufield scored for the Habs.
“That was a pretty complete game,” coach Travis Green told reporters in Montreal. “I liked the way we played defensively. We had some good looks, we created some offence, and it was good way to end the pre-season.”
