The Windsor Spitfires sent a message that they are the team to beat in the Ontario Hockey League.
The pre-season talk was all about the Brantford Bulldogs being the league’s most formidable team this season. Brantford started the season as the No. 2-ranked team in the Canadian Hockey League while Windsor was ranked No. 5.
On Saturday, the Spitfires, who are now ranked No. 2, walked into Brantford and scored a 4-3 shootout win over the Bulldogs, who came in as the No. 3-ranked team.
“It was a great hockey game,” Spitfires’ head coach Greg Walters said. “Both goaltenders played extremely well, they’re a very good team, and coached very well and we’re very pleased getting two points in a tough rink.”
