Mothers United Against Violence held a vigil to honor Dwight Watson who was shot and killed on Sunday, Sept. 28.

Violence prevention advocates reacted to a string of shootings in Hartford last weekend.

In less than 24 hours, from September 27 th to 28 th , there were five shootings that killed two people and hurt four others.

That included 43-year-old Watson.

Mothers United Against Violence held a vigil in his honor in the same spot as the shooting on Brook Street.

Rev. Henry Brown said he had hoped to be able to pray with the family, but many members told him they were afraid since the person responsible is still on the run.
